Jay Patel, M.D.

Dr. Patel attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he received his Bachelors of Science in Community Health, business administration.  From there, he advanced to Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, where he completed his basic sciences and returned to the states to complete his clinical clerkship, where he had the opportunity to work with all sorts of different demographic populations from middle-upper class to serving the underserved. This is where Dr. Patel’s passion for psychiatry grew.  He then attended Western Michigan University Homer Stryker School of Medicine, where he completed his residency training in Psychiatry.  He joined Focus Mental Health after completion of his training in 2020.

Dr. Patel has trained and worked in multiple domains of Psychiatry, ranging from inpatient to outpatient.  He has been trained for various conditions that relate to mental health.  Dr. Patel has expressed his excitement to use his training and the most recent evidence based medicine to effectively serve the community of Las Vegas.

Dr. Patel moved from the Midwest to be close to family in Las Vegas.  He is dedicated to serve this community and improve the quality of life of those patients he has the privilege of treating.  Family is of great value to him and he practices in such a way to provide the type of care that he would hope to have for his own family.  During his times off, he loves to do various activities that involve spending time with his family.  He also enjoys cooking along with exploring and appreciating the culinary arts.  He is excited to meet you and work with you towards a better tomorrow!
